Consulting Services

John Perez Graphics & Design, LLC. will work with your company to achieve what is necessary for you to compete successfully in the marketplace with a recognizable market presence and clearly communicated message.

The most unique feature of our firm is our ability to combine creativity, graphics, technical know-how and copywriting services so that your marketing materials are powerful, easy-to-understand and technically correct. The oil and gas industry can be complex and confusing to the layperson – we work to help you convey information about a prospect area, the performance of your wells, petroleum industry statistics or your company’s vision and strategies.

Art direction, typesetting, project management, editorial services, layout and production, research, image acquisition, printing, photography, concept development, graphic design and marketing are all part of the many services we offer.

Typical Phases of a Project

Our design projects, whether they are for print or multimedia usually follow a specific procedure to attain successful results. This procedure has three phases:

  1. Research and Investigation - This is the key to developing successful design solutions. During this phase, the scope of work, criteria, problems and solutions are determined. The thoroughness of information obtained in this phase determines the success of the project. We realize that sometimes scientific data may not be available as source material. In these instances, we have the knowledge and understanding of the oil and gas industry to take a rough sketch and turn it into a finished, understandable illustration. Steps of this process may include:
    • Determining the market or audience.
    • Choosing the most effective means of reaching them.
    • Defining goals and objectives.
  2. Concept and Design - this is the phase when ideas and potential solutions are conceived and developed based upon information gathered in the first phase. First we go through a preliminary proofing stage that may include thumbnails, layouts or script treatment. Once this step is finished, final designs, art and copy are then completed, reviewed and approved by the client. Tasks to be accomplished by the designer and client may include:
    • Develop overall conceptual approach and design.
    • Prepare comprehensive layouts (comps) for client review.
    • Review with client and refine as necessary.
    • Finalize designs.
    • Review schedules and adjust.
    • Make any and all revisions to design based upon client review.
  3. Implementation and Supervision - In this phase the production of camera-ready artwork or adjustments to digital art, photography, illustration or media files are done. The completion schedule may be reviewed and production considerations discussed with the client, if necessary. At the conclusion of this phase, all final artwork-scans, photography or illustrations approved by the client are sent for reproduction. Alterations or corrections can still be made, however, changes at this stage could be expensive and may delay final delivery. Components of this phase may include:
    • Oversee photo sessions and/or give direction to illustrators.
    • Prepare artwork for placement in digital files or for traditional mechanicals.
    • Send color and copy proofs to client for review.
    • Make corrections and alterations where applicable.
    • Prepare specifications for reproduction.
